The moderators of the Republican debate had really good questions; I believe these questions were of interest to the public. The only downside of this debate was that not all candidates got the same amount of time to speak. The two candidates that got the most time were Donald Trump and Jeb Bush.
The candidate that got the lowest amount of time to speak was Senator of Kentucky Rand Paul. This is something that damages the debate and it makes viewers to not take it seriously because in a real debate every person has to get the same amount of time so that people can have the opportunity to know more about the candidate they like.
It has been almost a week that this debate took place and it is not clear to the public who has won. The reason is because some spoke less time than others, but in my view the candidate who was able to respond to its opposition and also present with clarity his proposals was Senator Rand Paul.
Some claim that Senator Rand Paul was really aggressive because he was not being politically correct. In contrast, I believe that he was an excellent debater and that all should be like him. He was able to sell himself as someone different, someone who we can trust that he will follow the laws of this country, and someone who will do what he says.
If all candidates had gotten the same amount of time we could probably have a winner, and in my view it will have been Rand Paul.
The first presidential debate is taking place today, and it would be in the State of Ohio. In this first debate only the top ten candidates would be allowed to participate, something that I believe is not fair. I think everyone who is running for president of the United States should have the opportunity to speak.
In the past the public has not taken the political debate seriously because moderators did not make the right questions. Many times they ask questions about the personal life of the candidate and this makes candidates to not be taken seriously by the people. I believe the debate should last longer and moderators should ask important questions.
In this first presidential debate we are not going to see anything new. Most of the public is aware of where candidates stand on issues, such as immigration, health care, the terrorist group ISIS and Iran. There might be a Spanish speaking news moderator-asking candidate Donald Trump or Ted Cruz how they stand on immigration.
The candidate that I believe is going to have more media coverage is Donald Trump. He is a candidate that has a lot of attention because his not a career politician and because he is radical in his comments. But I really hope this debate turns out to be more serious than in the past years.
Rand Paul a senator by Kentucky (R) and presidential candidate, has introduced a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. A non-profit organization that supports abortions and that was recently accused of selling baby body parts to research centers. This bill is expected to have a vote today in the Senate. Since the beginning of his campaign, senator Rand Paul has been a strong advocator against abortion. It is really surprising to see that only some like him speak in favor of the values that this country was founded on. It is also really sad to see how this country is changing direction from being a country that always spoke against the biggest injustices around the world, to a country that does not protest against the murder of the most innocents, the babies. This is not a political issue or a religious one it is something that is morally wrong, and people should not be supporting this crime against humanity. It is obviously that some really powerful people are making money out of this, but I hope it gets defunded so that our taxes stop going into the hands of these killers.
